Happy 50th Birthday Kenny

Yesterday was Kenny's 50th birthday. It is really hard to believe that we are getting to that age. In our heads, we are still much younger!

Things have been so busy. Between my Relief Society calling, all my homework and school classes, and everything going on at work, I wanted to do something to celebrate Kenny's birthday, but I had no idea how I was going to fit it in. Thank goodness for my great kids, and good family and friends that did everything so that we could surprise Kenny with a fun party.
All week I've been sneaking in a few plans here and there, hoping that we would be able to surprise Kenny in the evening. The plan was, that he and I would attend the temple, since it was ward temple day. While we were at the temple, the kids could come to the house and get everything set up. As I was getting ready for school yesterday morning, I had a panic attack because my recommend had expired and I needed a new one. (Thank goodness for a really accommodating Bishop and member of the Stake Presidency that worked everything out for me to get a recommend after I got home from class.)

We made it to the temple session, and when we came home, this is what we came home to. Kenny was completely surprised and it was a lot of fun.

First the driveway...with the garage doors signs and head stones...
It was a little hectic and Brielle was kind of fussy with all the commotion. Aunt Tawni was just the ticket to calm her down.

50 candles would have been too many for the cake, so we just had a few candles and a big "50" candle.

We didn't do anything special. We just hung out. KC loves showing people his phone and all the latest apps. The Peterson kids had fun with it. Breanne had fun catching up with Kenzie and Shauna.

Thanks to everyone for all you did to make this a special day for Kenny.

Happy Birthday sweetheart!

Church Basketball

Kenny hasn't played church ball for years. But decided it would be fun to play with Logan. He played a few games, and it didn't kill his back, so that was a good thing. The best part about it was that Kenny and Logan doing this together. I took a few pictures at one of their games. They had a great time.

The season is over now, but it was fun while it lasted.

Congratulations Breanne

Congratulations to Breanne for receiving her Master's Degree. Bre is quite a girl...have a baby one week, and participate in graduate commencement exercises the next week. We are so proud of all of our children and their accomplishments.

Would the real uncle with a moustache please step forward?

KC decided that he was going to be the uncle with a moustache, so he shaved off his beard, and here you go. He describes this look as "sick" and not in the cool sick way. It was shaved off that same day.

Six Days as Grandparents

We've already been grandparents for six days. We are loving it. Bre has posted pics on her blog, but here are a few more. Isn't she beautiful?

Logan met his first niece through the hospital window. Then later in the evening, Kenny came to give Bre a blessing, so they got to come in the room and see her.

KC and Tawni came over to Bre and Derek's house on Sunday. I have pictures, but will have to post them later. It is getting really late and I need to go to sleep!!

Uncle with a Moustache?

Logan has decided that the first time Brielle sees him, he will have a moustache. Well, as you know that it going to be quite impossible without some help because Logan is still only subject to peach fuzz. With Halloween makeup available, Logan's preparation has begun. It did evolve from a moustache to a full moustache and beard. The color isn't quite right, but it is pretty hilarious! Apparently being the uncle with moustache is a distinguishing quality that Logan wants to claim for his first niece. I have no idea where he comes up with this stuff!

I'm a horrible blogger, but I have a really cool thing...

I know that I've dropped of the blogging planet. I'm horrible since we moved in to the new house (not that I was good at it before...but I am worse now).

But even though I'm a horrible blogger, I just wanted to say that I had an amazing experience today. I heard my granddaughters heart beat for the first time.

Happy tears.
