It's been a long time....

I haven't posted anything for so long, and I don't know how great these pictures are. But I thought I take a minute to try to remember some of the things that have been going on at our house. So much has happened over the past month. I am going to try to remember some of it....

• KC and Tawni both had birthdays. They turned 24. Since they have birthday's in the same month, I think they are destined to get a joint present for much of their marriage. We gave them a BBQ grill and they have been grilling up a storm!
• When I gave my notice at work, they decided they would close the office as of November 1! That made a lot more work to close everything. I've spent the last month boxing and sorting and shipping and sanitizing. It was kind of sad. I opened the office and set it up, and partly closed it and took a lot down. I'm glad for the experience that I had there, and know that without that experience we would not have the opportunities we have now.
• The "For Sale" sign got put in the front yard and we have a lock box on the doorknob. Yikes!
• I traveled to Columbus on business one last time.
• We got new appliances in the kitchen. Our appliances were way outdated and they made the kitchen look pretty bad. We were hoping not to change them and just reduce our price so the buyer could pick what they wanted, but we had a couple of recommendations to make the updates so we did.
• We put knobs on the cabinets.
• We painted the basement. Our awesome home teacher came over and helped Kenny paint the doors.
• We got new carpet in the basement. To get the carpet, we had to move everything out of the basement. One of my visiting teachers and her husband came over to help us. It was a big job to move the furniture up to the garage. It is not coming back down. The new homeowners can move their stuff down here instead!

• We cleaned all the cabinets and boxed up a ton of stuff.
• We put together a ward picnic. It was a great success. We had a lot of people come and it was a lot of fun.
• We were released from being the ward activity committee.
• We attended a baptism and a baby blessing and had fun with family and took naps because we were at someone else's house and so we couldn't work on ours!
• My co-workers and I had a last get together. Kenny and I had dinner with all the great people that I've been fortunate to work with over the past 7 years.
• We attended a funeral. A friend that we've known for 20 years died suddenly of a heart attack. He was only 1 year older than me. What sadness...a reminder that life is fragile and how grateful we are for the gospel and the promise of eternal life!
• Our cute ward family had a going-away party for us. We were a little worried about this. We certainly don't want someone else who moves out of the ward to get their feelings hurt, but it sure made us feel loved. So many people in our ward have touched our hearts and we will never forget them. They took a picture of everyone who came to the party, so we can always have that to remember them by.


• I had to talk in Sacrament meeting. Kenny talked last month, so he got out of it. But I suppose I have given my "farewell" speech. And, if they ask us to talk when we move, we have talks all prepared!
• We have spent a ton of time on the MLS. We haven't made a decision on a house yet, but hopefully soon.

Here is a picture of Kenny sitting down. Believe me, when I say "we" above when a house fixing chore is involved...it is almost all Kenny. Working on the house has been a full time job for him over the past month. He has been working so hard and I think this is the first time that he has stretched out and relaxed for a minute.

This is long and not necessarily in order, but I hope this will help us remember all that we have accomplished when it get discouraging because it seems that we aren't getting done!

Load up the wagons folks!

The Jensen's are loading up the wagons and moving from West Jordan to Logan! Exciting times are ahead. Teresa has accepted a new position with SDL in Logan at the beginning of October. Kenny will look for something new when we get up there. Pray for us that the house sells quickly. The market isn't the greatest right now and the sooner we sell, the sooner we can be together as a family!

We are super excited and nervous all at the same time. This is a big change after being in the same house for 18 years. Everything has fallen in to place is such a way that we are certain this is meant to be. Don't come too close to our house. We might put you to work washing walls and painting!

Funny, and Not So Funny From This Weekend


Bre and Derek came down this weekend so they could spend time with Cousin G who just returned from his mission to Korea. With Kenny's retirement coming up, he has been cleaning his locker. Bre found his rain gear and put it on. It was hilarious! It had been raining a bit, but by the time she put on the gear, the rain had kind of stopped. So the water in this picture is Kenny squirting her with the hose. Samson couldn't get enough of the water. After we had a good laugh with Bre in her halloween costume for this year, we had the not so funny part of the weekend.

After he finished squirting Bre, Kenny checked the puppies. Cassie, the pup we are keeping, had a horrible gash on her back right leg. We had to take her to the emergency animal hospital (yes, this costs a small fortune) and she had to have surgery to repair a torn ligament and she has staples in her little leg. Here she is with her bandage and lovely cone!

Of course, Bre felt sorry for her and just loved her all night long. The kids rented DrillbitTaylor, and Bre fell asleep holding Cassie while we were watching it. Cassie loved the attention. She was pretty calm because she was still under the influence of drugs. (Cassie was, not Bre.)

It was fun to have Bre and Derek home and Logan hung out with us all weekend while we did family stuff. Garrett did an amazing job on his talk and we had a fun Sunday afternoon chatting with Kenny's brothers and sisters.

Good weekends with family are the best!

Gratitude for Temples

25 years ago, on July 6, 1983, I received my endowment in the Salt Lake Temple. I love the temple so much. I love the peace that I feel there, and the warmth in my heart knowing that because of the blessings of the temple, my family can be forever. I am always amazed by the love I feel for and from the temple workers when I attend and the love I feel for the person who has died that I am doing the work for. Some people not of my faith may not understand why the LDS people do the work in the temple that we do, but I know that it only brings me happiness. I know I don't always understand everything, but I'm OK with that because the peace I feel helps me to know that someday I will understand. I do believe that Heavenly Father wants me to return to live with him and when that day comes it will be wonderful. I hope that over the next 25 years, I will be able to travel to many other temples. I'm grateful that there are temples so close to me and that I can be at a temple within just a few minutes and put the world aside just for a little while. I know that is a great blessing and that there are so many people that have to sacrifice and travel great distances in order to enjoy the blessings of the temple.

Happy 4th of July

This was a kind of a quiet 4th of July celebration, but a good one. Kenny was working and Logan had plans with his friends, so I thought I might be on my own. But KC and Tawni came down and we had the greatest time. We drove down to Ft. Green and spent the afternoon just chatting with Mom and Dad. Cindy and Chris were there with J and Sarah and it was fun to see them. KC, Tawni and I didn't get to Ft. Green in time to join them for the 4th of July lunch, but still got to enjoy some leftover watermelon (Yum!) We had a very relaxing visit, then drove over to Moroni to watch the fireworks. The band playing while we waited for the fireworks wasn't so great, but we didn't care because we were just having fun. The fireworks were pretty good for a small town. We were sitting at the top of the hill above the baseball field, and the fireworks were pretty close. You could feel the boom in your chest. KC and Tawni took the pictures and I'm glad that they brought their camera because I didn't remember.

Saturday was a great day just spending time with KC and Tawni. We had such a great time shopping, working, relaxing, watching movies. Tawni is an amazing cook and threw together some pizza dough and we each made individual pizzas. Fun times!

I'm grateful to live in this country and I'm grateful for all the men and women who serve and have served to protect the freedoms that I enjoy and tend to take for granted.

The latest on puppy selling

The puppies are not selling as fast as we hoped, but we have managed to sell 5 of them and have 5 left. I know that we had 11 puppies, but Kenny has decided to keep one. We've named her Cassie and she is very cute. Here is a pic of Cassie. (I like to call her "Poo Face" because she has a brown spot on her mouth. When she was a baby and the spot started to show I thought she had eaten....well, you get it.) Kenny wants to apply all the things he has learned about training starting at a young age. He has learned so much and it will be fun to watch her learn and grow.


I'm just thinking that KC moved out, and we got Buda. Bre moved out and we got Cassie. It seems that we are acquiring dogs to replace our children. Sick! (and I don't mean sick in a good cool way like Logan says it!)

We sold one puppy to a family in California. They took the biggest boy. We called him "Tank". They were just the nicest people; the kind of people that you meet once and put on your Christmas card list because you want to be sure to stay in touch. Well, these nice people are going to advertise the puppies in California for us. If we sell any, they will meet us in Nevada and deliver the puppies down there for us! We are praying that they will find good homes. Below are the ones that are left, "site pointing" at the wing. 3 girls and 2 boys. (Lyla, Budira, Fancy, Sarge and Ruger)

I had to put "site pointing" quotes because that is one of the hunting training terms that I learned recently. I thought Kenny said "soft pointing". When we were sitting at Sportsman's Warehouse last Saturday trying to sell puppies, I told someone that was looking at the puppies that they are already "soft pointing" at the wing. The person I was talking to didn't know anything about pointing, so they didn't know my mistake, which Kenny clarified for me after they left. Apparently "site pointing" is when they freeze on the wing. "Soft pointing" is when they do their business and leave a treasure to shovel up and put in the garbage!
